The Memory Flame – A Meaningful Yom Kippur Tribute
As Yom Kippur approaches—a sacred time of reflection and remembrance—we invite you to participate in The Memory Flame, a hearfelt project dedicated to honoring the loved ones who continue to live on in our hearts. Each name submitted will be printed in our beautifully designed Yizkor Memorial Booklet, to be shared during our Yom Kippur service. In addition, a personalized memorial candle will be prepared and lit in the sanctuary before the Kol Nidre service begins, filling our sacred space with a collective glow of memory and love. Yizkor is our service to remember the sweet souls that we have lost, individually and as a Community. With a symbolic donation of $18 per name, you can remember a dear relative, friend, or community member in a way that is both personal and communal. It’s a simple yet powerful act—honoring those who came before us while supporting the warmth, strength, and continuity of Temple Emanuel. Since it is customary to recite Yizkor four times a year: Yom Kippur, Shemini Atzeret (which is at the end of Sukkot), the last day of Pesach (Passover), and Shavuot, the names within the Yizkor Memorial Booklet will be honored throughout the year. We encourage every member of our community to take part in this meaningful tribute. Let the light of your remembrance join with others, as together we create a sacred moment of unity, legacy, and reflection.
Please fill out the form below no later than August 31 to have your loved one(s) included in the Memorial Book.
